Data Acquisition

Quality in, Quality out.

The validity of your opinion is fundamentally based on the quality of your data collection. To deliver reliable opinions, we leverage advanced hardware and software for superior data collection.

Discover the methods we deploy

Laser Scanning

We use high-definition laser scanners to capture finite details.

We incorporate laser scanning into our accident reconstruction to boost accuracy, speed, efficiency, and the safety of data gathering [for example at busy intersections]. This technology creates hundreds of millions of data points gathered rapidly with minimal manpower, making it essential for thorough documentation of accident sites and vehicle damage. Its precision and effectiveness greatly enhance our reconstruction capabilities and sets the stage for our simulations.

Drone Mapping

We pilot drones to create comprehensive 3D mapping of incident sites.

Drone mapping uses Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs a.k.a. drones) to capture aerial images of an area, which are processed into detailed maps and 3D models. In accident reconstruction, this technique provides high-resolution views of scenes, enabling precise measurements and accurate accident site analysis, enhancing the efficiency of the site investigations and analysis visualizations.

Black Box Imaging

If a vehicle is equipped with a data recorder, we can extract and analyze that data.

“Black Box” imaging utilizes advanced technology to extract data from onboard vehicle systems (including motorcycles and bicycles). This capability enables us to reconstruct accidents using data captured during the event, providing objective insights into vehicle speed, braking patterns, and other critical parameters, thereby enhancing the accuracy and reliability of our reconstructions.

Testing

When necessary, our testing expertise delivers the critical data you need.

When reference data is unavailable, our hands-on testing comes into focus. We design, execute, and analyze various tests to assess collision dynamics, vehicle performance, handling characteristics, and safety features. Conducted in controlled environments, these tests validate and support our analysis findings, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

Visualizations

We transform reconstruction analysis into visualizations.

Our detailed visualizations depict collision scenarios based on our analysis. By illustrating complex dynamics and sequences from multiple perspectives, these visualizations clarify and communicate technical details. They are powerful tools for courtroom presentations, settlement negotiations, and educational purposes.
